This letter from Paul to Titus is a plea for the centrality of “the truth” in the local church. Paul places foundational stones before Titus with which he can build the local church on the Island of Crete. Titus was a companion of Paul’s who was left behind on the island to strengthen the local congregation there. Paul addresses the shepherding of the local church, the presence of false teaching, the public life of the members, and the gospel that underscores it all. The aim of this series is to heighten the value of biblical truth in our Sunday gathering and weekly lives.
